Sao Paulo, 21 September 2015 – The Inquiry is in Brazil this week and will speak at the FEBRABAN (Brazilian Federation of Banks) International Seminar titled “Financial System, the Green Economy and Climate Change”. Achim Steiner, Executive Director of UNEP, will deliver a keynote to open the seminar followed by a panel discussion on “the design of a global financial system aligned to the Green Economy”.

New Jersey (US), 17 September 2015 – North American sustainable finance leaders are meeting in New Jersey for the UNEP Finance Initiative’s North American signatories meeting. The UN Environment Programme (UNEP)’s Inquiry into the Design of a Sustainable Financial System will present highlights of the findings of its 2-year global study.
Lima, 16 September 2015 – The Inquiry is in Peru this week and will speak at the International Sustainable Finance Forum event, a gathering for global sustainable finance leaders, hosted by the Government of Peru and the IFC. The Inquiry will be back in Lima the week of 8 October 2015 to launch publicly the findings of the two-year Inquiry into the Design of a Sustainable Financial System.
London, 14 September 2015 – Only days ahead of the historic summit to adopt the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a new UN study calls on regulators to implement proactive policies that build institutional investment frameworks, institutions and culture with sustainability at their core.
“Financial Reform, Institutional Investors and Sustainable Development: A review of current policy initiatives and proposals for further progress” was produced by the United Nations Environment Programme Inquiry into the Design of a Sustainable Financial System (UNEP Inquiry) and the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS).
London, 11 September 2015 – The Inquiry is in London this week to provide briefings and presentations to key stakeholders and partners, sharing highlights of the findings of the two-year study to be launched publicly in Lima (Peru) on 8 October.
London, 8-9 September 2015 – Financial decision-makers from more than 25 countries are meeting in London for the Principles for Responsible Investment “PRI in Person” conference. The global meeting aims to dig deeper into the benefits of existing responsible investment practice. The Inquiry into the Design of a Sustainable Financial System will present highlights of the findings of its 2-year global study.

Maputo, 1-4 September 2015 – Financial and policy experts from emerging and frontier markets are meeting in Mozambique this week for their annual Global Policy Forum (GPF). The GPF is the most important and comprehensive forum for regulatory institutions with an interest in the promotion of financial inclusion policy. The UNEP Inquiry into the Design of a Sustainable Financial System will run a session titled “Financial System Re-Shaping for Sustainable Development: Examples from Africa, Asia and the Global Context”.
Paris, 1 September 2015 – Financial and government experts are meeting in Paris, just months ahead of the convening of the UN Climate Conference. The conference aims to further mobilize support for fossil fuel divestment, discuss the risks of a so-called carbon bubble, and highlight opportunities for a sustainable financial system. The conference has been organized by 350.org and the Greens/EFA Group in the European Parliament. The UNEP Inquiry into the Design of a Sustainable Financial System will make a presentation of highlights of its work over the last two years and its findings.
Johannesburg, 31 August 2015 – The Inquiry is in South Africa this week to provide briefings and presentations to key stakeholders and partners, sharing highlights of the findings of the two year study to be launched publicly in Lima, Peru on the 8th of October. The Inquiry’s partner in South Africa is the Johannesburg Stock Exchange with CEO Nicky Newton-King a member of the Inquiry’s Advisory Council.
