In the context of Argentina’s upcoming G20 Presidency, the Inter-American Development Bank in alliance with UN Environment are organising a high-level, international Symposium on green finance on 20-21 July 2017 in Buenos Aires. The Symposium will bring together leading international public and private sector actors advancing green finance in the context of national priorities and international commitments, including the co-Chairs and other participants from the G20 Green Finance Study Group and other green finance-related G20 work streams. These will be joined by Argentinian financial market, policy and regulatory actors advancing green and sustainable finance practices.

The Symposium will provide an opportunity to explore emerging best practice internationally, profile and encourage regional action on green finance, and consider options for advancing international cooperation through the G20 and elsewhere. As well as the main event, the Symposium will include a series of smaller consultations to enable more in-depth discussions on specific financing needs and measures.
