Lima Workshop: Developing Country Leadership in Aligning the Financial System to Sustainable Development - The Case of Bangladesh

Many of the most creative reforms to green the financial system are taking place in countries as diverse as Brazil, China, Indonesia, and South Africa. Leadership from the less developed countries is, for understandable reasons, rarer so the case of Bangladesh stands out.

This workshop, a side event to the IMF/World Bank Annual Meetings will draw on the case of Bangladesh and share lessons from its with experience and that of other developing countries.

Panellists are:

  • Achim Steiner, Under Secretary-General and Executive Director, United Nations Environment Programme

The panel is moderated by Mark Halle, Vice-President, Strategy and Executive Director of IISD-Europe.
